Suspect Who Killed 2 at the University of Colorado Was Roommate of Victim

The suspect who killed a student and a woman in a University of Colorado, Colorado Springs dorm room last week was the roommate of one of the victims.

Police arrested Nicholas Jordan, 25, on Monday, charging him with two counts of first degree murder in the shooting deaths of Samuel Knopp, 24, and Celie Rain Montgomery, 26.

According to ABC News, Jordan, from Detroit, and Knopp were roommates. Montgomery was not a student.

Police took a suspect into custody on Monday concerning a double homicide at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs campus.

Jordan was found in a vehicle on Monday and taken into custody without incident, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, police said the shooting was “an isolated incident between individuals who were known to one another and not a random attack against the school or other students.”

ABC said that Jordan was given a $5 million bond on Tuesday and returns to court on Friday, when a judge is expected to rule about unsealing the probable cause affidavit.

CSPD said that the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact police at 719-444-7000. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at  719-634-STOP (7867) or 1-800-222-8477.
