Alice Dobmeier: Police Provide Update Following Discovery of Missing Minnesota Woman’s Body

On Monday, Rochester police in Minnesota addressed inquiries from the public regarding the recent discovery of a missing Rochester woman’s body last week.

According to the Rochester Police Department, 34-year-old Alice Dobmeier was found dead Friday evening, around “80 yards inside a culvert by a retention pond ” off Broadway Avenue South, the Post Bulletin reports.

“We know many of you have questions surrounding the death of Alice Dobmeier, and we understand,” Rochester police said on Facebook. “When we share information, we must balance the needs of not only a concerned community, but also an active investigation and a grieving family.”

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Dobmeier was last seen leaving her southwest Rochester residence on March 3. Loved ones told investigators that was out of character for her not to contact them.

Investigators concluded that Dobmeier was alone when she arrived at a nearby hotel on the evening of March 3 and departed alone the following afternoon.

RPD added that Dobmeier used a “ride service to get from the hotel to Walmart south where she purchased liquor and medication.”

Security footage showed Dobmeier leaving the store alone, then walking east on 25th St. SE.

The Southern Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner’s preliminary report indicated that they do not believe foul play was involved.

“The Dobmeier family wants us to remind you that help is available if you are struggling with mental health and chemical dependency. The Southeast Regional Crisis Center is open 24/7,” RPD said.

“Out of respect for the Dobmeier family, we will not be sharing any more updates.”
