Caleb Harris: Reward for Missing 21-Year-Old Texas A&M Student Reaches $50K

The reward for information that leads to missing Texas A&M-Corpus Christi student Caleb Harris has increased to $50,000, his family said Sunday.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Caleb’s family initially set the reward at $25,000, slated to expire on Monday. The 21-year-old hasn’t been seen since March 4, after walking out of his off-campus apartment barefoot to get a food order.

Caleb’s father, Randy Harris, said the end-of-the-month deadline was established to foster a “sense of urgency” among potential informants regarding his son’s case. Now, however, there is no deadline.

Caleb was last seen at his residence at The Cottages in Corpus Christi, at a little before 3 a.m. in the 1900 block of Ennis Joslin. He sent a Snapchat message at around 2:45 a.m. to his sister, then, while outside waiting for the order, sent another Snapchat message to his friend, while standing by a small bridge next to his apartment complex.

Randy Harris, told CrimeOnline that Caleb’s phone either died or was turned off a little after 3 a.m.

CCPD Assistant Chief Todd Green told Corpus Christi’s 3NEWS there has been misinformation regarding where Caleb’s phone last pinged.

“I think there was some bad information that intended to show that his phone was pinging miles away from where he lived or where he was last seen,” he said.

“I think as we’ve progressed in the last couple weeks and reanalyzed that information and gathered more information from the cell providers, the working theory we have right now is that the last ping was probably right either in the complex or out on the street right in front of the complex.”

Harris is described as a white male who stands 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs around 180 pounds. He has brown hair, and brown eyes and doesn’t have his wallet or vehicle with him.
