‘I would do it again’: Nebraska Father Smothers Two Young Children, Tucks Bodies Into Bed

A Nebraska father convicted of suffocating his two young children received a life sentence without the possibility of parole Monday, after admitting he would kill his children again if given the chance.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Adam Lee Price was convicted in February of murdering his 5-year-old daughter, Emily Price, and 3-year-old son, Theodore Price. After killing them, he placed them back in bed and tucked them in.

Their bodies were found when a neighbor walked into Price’s unlocked home on the morning of May 16, 2021, at the request of their mother, Mary Nielsen, who said she hadn’t heard from Price or the children in a few days.

On Monday, Price was handed a life sentence without the chance of parole for his convictions of first-degree murder.

A detective testified that following Price’s confession, he admitted that he “would do it again,” and that “it was not a spur of the moment thing,” Law&Crime reports.

The medical examiner who performed the autopsies said the cause of death for both children was asphyxiation, which required substantial time and effort to carry out.

The prosecution said that medical experts claimed “ it takes about a minute for someone to be rendered unconscious and then a minute to two minutes after that to be killed,” in the manner the victims were killed.

“I always have and always will love my wife and kids,” the defendant said during sentencing, according to WOWT. “[P]lease pray for them.”
