Michael McKee, an Illinois surgeon accused of killing his former wife, Monique Tepe, and her current husband, Spencer Tepe, has pleaded not guilty.
McKee, 39, appeared remotely from jail for an arraignment in Franklin County, Ohio, Friday afternoon, where he entered a not guilty plea on multiple felony charges.
McKee is facing four counts of aggravated murder and one count of aggravated burglary while using a firearm suppressor. Defense attorney Diane Menashe spoke on his behalf and waived a bond request, ABC 16 reports.
McKee, who remains behind bars at the James A. Karnes Corrections Center, is accused of shooting the couple with an automatic firearm or silencer, inside their Columbus home on December 30, as CrimeOnline previously reported.
He stood silent and emotionless during the brief hearing.
According to a police report, police found Monique Tepe with a gunshot wound to the head and found Spencer Tepe with numerous gunshot wounds, The Columbus Dispatch reports.
Their two young children were left physically unharmed inside the residence.
Police arrested McKee in Rockford, Illinois, on January 10, after reportedly matching his vehicle to the crime scene. Investigators later found multiple weapons inside his Rockford apartment.
