BOLO: Search Continues for Arizona Teen Girl Who Never Came Home from School

Police in Arizona are seeking tips on a missing 16-year-old, last seen leaving her school in Maricopa County.

According to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), Laila Champagne Garcia was last seen January 26, at Red Mountain High School in Mesa. Laila was reported missing the following day when she failed to return home.

“The specific clothing Laila was wearing at the time of her disappearance is currently unknown, as is her potential destination,” MCSO said.

Laila is described as standing 5 feet, 1 inch tall and weighing around 100 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes, according to MCSO.

“Mesa Public Schools is aware of the situation involving a student who was reported missing after leaving campus. The safety and well-being of our students is always our highest priority,” a school representative told People magazine.

“We are cooperating fully with local law enforcement as they lead the investigation. Due to student privacy protections and the active nature of the investigation, the district is not able to share additional details at this time.”
