“Today” host Savannah Guthrie released an additional video Monday, following a demand for $6 million in Bitcoin for the return of her missing 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie.
“We are at an hour of desperation, and we need your help,” Savannah Guthrie posted on an Instagram video.
“We believe our mom is still out there. We need your help. Law enforcement is working tirelessly, around the clock, trying to bring her home.”

“She was taken, and we don’t know where, and we need your help. So I’m coming on just to ask you … no matter where you are … if you see anything, if you hear anything, if there’s anything at all that seems strange to you, that you report to law enforcement.”
As CrimeOnline previously reported, on Friday. KOLD reported that the outlet received a ransom note, demanding the payment before 5 p.m. MST Monday. The note reportedly “threatened to kill Nancy Guthrie” if the $6 million in Bitcoin is not received.
Initially, ransom notes sent to both KOLD and KGUN demanded $4 million in Bitcoin, with a deadline of February 5. The notes indicated that the payment would increase to $6 million on February 9 if the payment had not been made.
“Investigators are actively inspecting the information provided in the message for its authenticity,” the FBI said on February 6.
TMZ reports that as of Monday morning, no funds have been sent to the Bitcoin account set up in connection with the case.
The ransom notes reportedly did not provide any proof of life or a way for loved ones to communicate with Nancy Guthrie, who needs daily medication to survive.
