MISSING SAVANNAH GUTHRIE MOM: Wisconsin Attorney Offers $100K Reward in Ongoing Search for 84-Year-Old

A Milwaukee attorney has offered a $100,000 reward for information that leads to missing Arizona grandmother, Nancy Guthrie.

According to FOX 6 Milwaukee, personal injury lawyer Michael Hupey stated that the reward would be offered through Crime Stoppers.

Hupey told the outlet that Crime Stoppers offers tipsters the option of remaining anonymous, adding that providing personal information (the FBI’s reported requirement) could “deter people from coming forward.”

“She’s an 84-year-old woman and I don’t like the way the investigation and reward is being handled,” Hupey said.

“I think it could have been done much better. I think if the $100,000 was put up through crime stoppers – we could be further along.”

As CrimeOnline previously reported, investigators believed someone took Nancy Guthrie against her will, from her Catalina Foothills home.

She was last seen January 31, after family members dropped her off at home, following dinner. They reported her missing the following day, when she failed to show up for church.

Nancy Guthrie is the mother of “Today” show host, Savannah Guthrie, who has routinely posted Instagram videos, pleading for her mother’s safe return.

Meanwhile, the FBI has released information pertaining to an armed suspect spotted on Nancy’s Nest doorbell camera. According to agents, he:

  • Stands 5 feet, 9 inches to 5 feet, 10 inches tall
  • Has a medium to average build
  • Had on black gloves, a mask and
  • Had on a black 25-liter Ozark Trail backpack, that is sold exclusively at Walmart
  • Had on clothing likely bought at Walmart, although likely not exclusive at Walmart

“If the person who knows who the perpetrator is doesn’t want his name exposed, wants a reward and has information that will lead to an arrest – crime stoppers is the perfect place to do it,” Hupy added.

“No one did it, so I am doing it.”

The FBI’s $100,000 reward also remains in place, for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those involved in Guthrie’s disappearance.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the FBI tip line at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324). Tipsters can also contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Department tip line at 520-351-4900.
