MISSING Genesis Reid: Cadaver Dogs Search for Alabama Tot, Mother’s Violent Past Emerges

Law enforcemtn in Alabama were seen utilizing cadaver dogs Wednesday, in search of missing toddler Genesis Reid.

According to WTVY, the dogs, trained to detect “human remains,” searched around an Enterprise apartment complex at 201 Apache Drive, where Genesis lives with her mother, Adrienne Reid. The dogs also searched a nearby wooded area.

Enterprise police said Genesis “may be just about to turn three.”

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Adrienne Reid said she discovered Genesis missing from bed on February 16, and noticed a door had been opened.

Reid reported Genesis missing at 3:10 a.m. that morning, according to police.

Neighbors said they have not seen Genesis since early January, WFSA reports. Prior to January, they reportedly saw Genesis many times, while out on walks with her mother.

Police are now asking anyone who saw Genesis over the past month to come forward, while they seek assistance in finding a woman named “Moriah,” who is possibly connected to the case. Police said the woman is not a suspect at this time, but a person of interest.

On Tuesday, police arrested Reid on a felony charge of providing false information to law enforcement. Specifically, she’s accused of fabricating the story involving Genesis missing from her bed and an opened door.

Records obtained by WTVY revealed Reid’s previous arrest, involving a violent altercation against a family member.

In 2017, authorities arrested Reid after she “used a sharp instrument” and cut her mother multiple times. The victim, who had a 5-inch cut on one of her arms, among other injuries, recovered at an area hospital.

Reid later pleaded guilty to a reduced misdemeanor charge, and a judge sentenced her to probation.

Investigators are now hoping to keep Reid behind bars until her daughter’s disapperance is solved.

Genesis is described as a Black female who stands 2 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs around 25 pounds. She has black hair, and brown eyes.

Police said she had on pink Mickey Mouse pajamas at the time of her disappearance.
