As the search for missing Arizona grandmother Nancy Guthrie enters its third week, an anonymous donation, coupled with the FBI’s reward, has reached $200,000.
Nonprofit group 88-Crime, which offers an anonymous tip line, has partnered with authorities to raise the reward amount for the 84-year-old.
The group posted on Facebook that it is offering a reward of up to $102,500 for information that leads to an arrest for the “person or persons” responsible.
The FBI’s $100,000 reward also remains in place, for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those involved in Guthrie’s disappearance.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, a separate $100,000 reward has been offered by Wisonsin personal injury lawyer Michael Hupey, who is offering the reward through Tucson’s Crime Stoppers, “for the arrest of the perpetrator.”
Hupey told FOX 6 Milwaukee that Crime Stoppers offers tipsters the option of remaining anonymous, adding that providing personal information (the FBI’s reported requirement) could “deter people from coming forward.”
“She’s an 84-year-old woman and I don’t like the way the investigation and reward is being handled,” Hupey said.

Investigators believe someone took Nancy Guthrie against her will, from her Catalina Foothills home.
She was last seen January 31 after family members dropped her off at home, following dinner. They reported her missing the following day, when she failed to show up for church.
Nancy Guthrie is the mother of “Today” show host, Savannah Guthrie, who has routinely posted Instagram videos, pleading for her mother’s safe return.
The FBI stated earlier this month the agency obtained footage and photos of an armed suspect captured on Nancy Guthrie’s Nest doorbell camera.
The suspect:
- Stands 5 feet, 9 inches to 5 feet, 10 inches tall
- Has a medium to average build
- Had on black gloves and a mask
- Had on a black 25-liter Ozark Trail backpack, that is sold exclusively at Walmart
- Had on clothing likely bought at Walmart, although likely not exclusive at Walmart
Anyone with information is urged to contact the FBI tip line at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324). Tipsters can also contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Department tip line at 520-351-4900.
