Maleeka Boone: FBI Says 8-Year-Old Girl Died from Possible Hit-and-Run, $25K Reward Offered

The FBI is seeking information on a driver who possibly hit  a young Navajo Nation girl last month in Arizona.

According to FOX 10, the FBI stated that a “larger vehicle” likely struck 8-year-old Maleeka “Mollie” Boone on January 15, at Cedar Loop Road, in the Coalmine Canyon area.

She had been walking home home at the time, in the Coalmine Navajo Housing Authority in Tuba City.

“Recent investigative developments indicate that Boone was likely struck by a passing vehicle on the evening of January 15, 2026,” the FBI said on February 25.

“Investigators believe it is possible that the driver of a larger vehicle, possibly a pickup truck, may have struck Boone without realizing it.”

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Maleeka vanished on January 15 after going outside to play. The following day, police found her deceased at around 8:30 a.m., in a field in the neighborhood.

Law enforcement is now seeking “information about vehicles that were traveling on Cedar Loop Road within the Coalmine Navajo Housing Authority between 5:50 p.m. and 6:20 p.m. on January 15, 2026,” the FBI added.

Tipsters should contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) or online at tips.fbi.gov. The FBI is offering a $25,000 reward in the case.
