Illinois authorities are urgently searching for a 4-year-old girl and her mother, who vanished Friday after a daycare pickup on the city’s West Side.
According to the Chicago Police Department, Heidy Garcia Soriano, 26, picked up her daughter, Ashley Lobato, from her childcare provider before both disappeared from the 1300 block of North Springfield Avenue in Humboldt Park, according FOX 32.
Authorities found Soriano’s car nearby, shortly after the disappearance. The vehicle’s description is currently unclear.
The mother and child remain officially considered endangered. Police believe they may still be in the local area.
Ashley is described as a Hispanic child standing roughly 3 feet tall and weighing approximately 35 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
Her mother, Heidy, is a Hispanic woman, standing 5 feet, 7 inches inches tall and weighing approximately 110 pounds, also with black hair and brown eyes.
