A Tennessee man found at a Florida hotel with an Ohio girl has been linked to another case involving a Texas teen.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, authorities found 16-year-old Madison Fields in a Putnam County, Florida, hotel earlier this month, after officials identified a “person of interest” in Tennessee.
She had been missing since February, after leaving her family’s hotel in Cincinnati.
Authorities found the teen safe and took the man, identified only as the last name Negron, into custody. The teen is now back in Ohio.
NBC 5 reports that a spokesperson in the FBI’s Washington, D.C. office confirmed that Negron is currently in custody at an undisclosed Tennessee location.
Negron was also investigation for allegeldy transporting a 17-year-old Texas girl “across state lines” for sexual activity. Prosecutors never filed charges.
During the same time, Negron allegedly “made threatening statements” to police, FOX News Digital reports. Authorities also found a firearm inside him home.
Charges in the Florida case are currently pending.
According to FOX News Digital, the FBI said that authorities are currently reviewing digital evidence but, so far, no child abuse materials have been found.
