CrimeOnline’s Nancy Grace says the disappearance of 84-year-old Arizona mother Nancy Guthrie has brought back painful memories of the murder of her fiancé, Keith Griffin.
Griffin was fatally shot by a co-worker in August 1979, inside a truck at a Madison, Georgia, construction work site. The incident happened months before the pair planned to elope and marry, while Griffith worked a summer job.
“I didn’t care if I lived or died,” Grace said in an interview with “Hang Out With Sean Hannity.” “Nothing mattered.”
His death eventually led Grace to become one of the nation’s strongest victims’ advocates. She also worked as a special prosecutor for the Atlanta-Fulton County District Attorney’s office, handling felony cases for nearly a decade.
“I felt like going out in the dark in the woods and just howling like an animal. I didn’t have words to say,”

While speaking of the Guthrie case, Grace said that watching Nancy Guthrie’s daughter, Savannah Guthrie, plead for answers, took her back to the pain she felt after Girffin’s death.
“It took me right back to that moment, those horrible moments when I was lying there in the dark. Feeling like howling, because there just were no words, nothing,” Grace said.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Nancy Guthrie was last seen on January 31 after family members dropped her off at her Catalina Foothills home after dinner.
They reported her missing the following day after she failed to show up for church.
Savannah later said she felt a sense of guilt that her status as a television show host may have led to her mother’s abduction, although at this point, it’s just a theory.
The Guthrie later came under attack online after supposedly failing to pay ransom demands.
“You and I knew at the beginning something was off, in that the ransom was not requested immediately,” Grace told Hannity.
“You take somebody… you want to feed them for a week and then ask for the money? No. You want the money, then you want it to be over with. You want to get the hell out of town.”
