Girl, 9, caught searching porn at school to figure out what relative ‘does to her’ at night

A San Antonio, Texas, man is facing charges for allegedly sexually assaulting a 9-year-old girl and her sister for at least a year.

The San Antonio Express-News reported that Anthony Garay, 31, was arrested Wednesday and charged with one count of continuous sexual abuse of a child. His arrest came a week after a teacher caught one of Garay’s supposed victims searching for pornography on a school-issued iPad.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit obtained by The Dallas Morning News, the 9-year-old claimed she was looking up what Garay “does to her.” She also mentioned that he sexually assaults her “all the time at night.” The girl later told authorities that the Garay, a relative, has abused her since she was 8. She also claimed the 31-year-old was doing the same thing to her sister.

The teacher contacted Child Protective Services (CPS) following the victim’s admission. CPS claimed Garay was previously investigated for the same two relatives. However, KSAT reported that they didn’t disclose the outcome of their original investigation.

Sex-related crimes appear to run in the family. The 31-year-old’s father, Placido Garay, 68, is a convicted sex offender who has been missing since 2008. Placido pleaded guilty to molesting two young relatives—about the same age as Anthony’s supposed victims. The Express-News reported that the 68-year-old fled right before his 10-year sentence of deferred adjudication was set to begin.

Raquel Seeman, who is related to the victims, told the paper that Garay’s family members helped him escape to Mexico more than nine years ago. It is unlikely US Marshals will extradite Placido because his whereabouts are unknown. It is unconfirmed whether the 68-year-old lives in Mexico at all.

“I trusted him with the most valuable parts of me,” Seeman, 41, commented, “and it broke us.”

“If you let Anthony go, he’ll go to Mexico so he and his dad can go molest girls over there.”

Anthony was booked into the Bexar County Jail. His bail was set at $75,000.
