HELP! FBI seeks video of slain teen Ashanti Billie’s car traveling from Virginia to North Carolina

The FBI is asking for the public’s help in locating footage believed to show Ashanti Billie’s Mini Cooper traveling from Hampton Roads, Virginia, to Charlotte, North Carolina.

According to an October 12 FBI statement, Billie, 19, was driving a white or cream-colored 2014 with Maryland tag 2CX-0575. The agency is urging` anyone who might’ve seen the vehicle in the Charlotte area from September 18 to September 23 to contact authorities.

At this time, authorities believe that the car traveled the following routes: the corridor from Route 17 to I-64 through Rocky Mount, and Raleigh to Charlotte; the travel corridor from Route 58 to I-85 through Durham and Greensboro to Charlotte; and the travel corridor from Route 58 to I-95 through Raleigh to I-85 to Charlotte.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Billie was reported missing September 18 after not turning up for work at the Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story and for classes at the Art Institute of Virginia Beach.

Authorities announced that they found her phone in a dumpster four miles from where she vanished. On September 23, volunteers reportedly located her Mini Cooper five miles from her job with no sign of Billie.

The case took a grim turn on September 28, when volunteers recovered hair braids, a pink shoe, and a sweatsuit near the dumpster where her phone was found. The following day, a landscaper spotted Billie’s body behind the East Stonewall AME Zion Church in Charlotte, North Carolina—300 miles from where she was last seen alive, CrimeOnline also reported.

The FBI is also asking for surveillance footage or dashcam video which might’ve captured the Mini Cooper driving between Hampton Roads and Charlotte during the aforementioned time frame.

Along with the FBI, the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS), Virginia Beach Police Department, Norfolk Police Department, and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department are investigating the case.
