Actress Rosario Dawson reportedly found her 26-year-old cousin dead in her Venice, California, home last week.
TMZ reported that Dawson’s discovered her cousin, Vaneza Ines Vasquez, unresponsive on Thursday. Paramedics tried to resuscitate Vasquez but were unsuccessful. The 26-year-old was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital, the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office told Entertainment Tonight.
“She had some medical issues going on hypertension, migraines and she was under a doctor’s care and he had prescribed some medications,” an official revealed to Entertainment Tonight. “[The doctor] had also referred her to a cardiologist but she hadn’t followed up. She was discovered unresponsive in the living room of her cousin’s residence.”
An LA Fire Department spokesperson confirmed to Entertainment Tonight that they responded to an “unspecified medical aid request” near Dawson’s residence on Thursday.

People wrote that Vasquez was working for Dawson, 38, at the time of her death.
The official also said the family hasn’t received the woman’s body and are making final arrangements.
“Vaneza, my sweet, sweet beautiful baby – your passing has left me destroyed forever but I know you are at peace in Paradise. I love you, my alpha child,” the woman’s mother, Lisa Conteno, wrote in a Facebook post on Monday.
Though toxicology reports are still pending, sources told TMZ that Vaneza had no history of substance abuse.
The tabloid also claimed that preliminary autopsy results indicated the 26-year-old died of natural causes. However, Chief Coroner Ed Winter told People that it’s too early to determine Vasquez’s cause of death.
