Police: Florida man, 28, repeatedly assaulted 10-year-old girl

A 28-year-old Florida man is accused of raping a 10-year-old girl three times in the past month.

Authorities alleged that Oracio Sales-Perez threatened to blame the rapes on the victim if she told anyone, according to the Palm Beach Post.

Police records revealed that a witness saw Sales-Perez bring the victim to his bedroom and close the door. The West Palm Beach man was supposedly seen leaving the room wearing only a bath towel a few minutes later.

The alleged sexual assaults occurred from April 1 to May 14, 2017. On three instances, the suspect took the 10-year-old to his room, took her clothes off, and raped her, according to police.

WPEC reported that the girl said Sales-Perez forced her to have sex with him. She supposedly also told police that she was scared of the 28-year-old.

It is unclear how the suspect knew the 10-year-old. Authorities became aware of the sexual assaults this week. The 28-year-old supposedly denied raping the girl during police questioning, the Post also reported.

Sales-Perez, a Guatemala citizen, was arrested Tuesday and charged with three counts of sexual battery on a child. A spokesperson for the West Palm Beach Police Department told the Daily Mail on Thursday that US Immigration and Customs Enforcement placed a detainer on Sales-Perez. However, the spokesperson declined to disclose his current immigration status.

Sales-Perez is being held in the Palm Beach County Jail without bond. A judge also ordered that he have no contact with anyone under the age of 18.
