Man accused of impregnating girlfriend’s 10-year-old daughter

A 34-year-old man is in custody after he allegedly impregnated a 10-year-old girl.

The Weekly Challenger reported that Nicholas Deon Thrash is accused of getting his girlfriend’s daughter pregnant. Social media postings indicated that the mother and suspect dated for two years.

The victim’s family claimed Thrash, who gave officers a Georgia address, was living with his girlfriend. The girl’s grandmother revealed to WISH that her granddaughter is currently 20 weeks pregnant.

“He’s not type of person that you’d think would do something like this,” the grandmother told the station. “We invited him into our home. He helped my husband all he could.”

“She came out and asked, ‘Can I get my Barbies?’ I said, ‘Of course you can.’ She is still a little girl that wants to play that has to grow up overnight.”

Police in Marion, Indiana, arrested Thrash on May 17 and charged him with 10 counts of molesting a child, according to court records obtained by Snopes.

Authorities told Snopes that the girl’s 32-year-old mother also arrested on May 16 and charged with two counts of felony neglect of a dependent. The mother’s identity is being withheld to protect the victim’s identity.

A tip to Crime Stoppers led police to Thrash, who was briefly on the run. It is unclear how long the 34-year-old lived in Indiana.

Thrash is being held in the Grant County jail on a $500,000 bond. The girl’s mother is being held in the same jail on a $100,000 bond, according to WRTV.
