‘My wife is dead and I did it:’ Man allegedly strangles wife after she kicks him out of bedroom

A Brooklyn, New York, man is accused of strangling and beating his wife to death after she refused to let him in the bedroom.

The New York Daily News reports that Desmoulins Loiseau, 56, supposedly admitted to his landlord that he killed Marie Loiseau, 63, during an argument over money. In addition to choking Marie, Desmoulins is said to have bashed his wife’s head in during the deadly dispute.

“My wife is dead and I did it,” Desmoulins supposedly told his landlord moments after the incident.

Police said Marie attacked Desmoulins Tuesday morning as he tried to enter the bedroom to get some personal items. The Brooklyn man told authorities that he’s routinely kicked out of the bedroom, according to the New York Post. He also revealed that they frequently argued about money and were sleeping in separate rooms.

“He grabbed her by the neck and covered her mouth and she bit him on the hand,” a police source told the Daily News. “Then he got angry.”

The landlord told the Daily News that the Loiseaus often fought, mostly because Desmoulins was unemployed. The landlord also mentioned that Desmoulins was behaving oddly Monday night.

“I didn’t hear anything. That’s the problem. Nobody heard anything. I know the woman, she’s the type of woman who would scream and if I heard somebody scream I would call the police.”

The landlord’s wife claimed that she noticed bite marks on Desmoulins’ hands on Tuesday.

Authorities charged the 56-year-old with murder early Wednesday. His arraignment is pending.
