Man allegedly films his brother sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl because ‘he thought it was funny’

Two Utah men allegedly raped a 14-year-old girl while a third captured the assault on video because he thought it was amusing, KSTU-TV reports.

Leclair Dodjim and Richard Djassera face numerous sex crimes charges in connection with the case.

Police were notified of the allegations September 9, when the girl’s father contacted police and told them that something had gone horribly wrong during a sleepover at a friend’s house.

During the stay, the girl made plans to sneak out with three males, including one she had met previously and talked with on the social media app Snapchat.

The victim told investigators that the men bought alcohol at a gas station, went to a mall parking lot, hookah bar and a house party.

The last thing she remembered, she said, was being in the back seat of a car and telling a man to stop kissing her.

Authorities discovered a video recording showing the victim in the car with her head hanging out the door.

“[Victim] appears to be unresponsive through most of the video, but does make feeble attempts to push the person on top of her off,” a court document states. “It appears [victim] is passed out and/or unconscious throughout most of the video and clearly cannot give consent to anything that is happening to her.”

The recording later shows two males engaging in sex acts with the victim.

Dodjim has admitted to police that he and the other men picked the girl up and that they all drank alcohol.

He said another man had sex with the girl before him, but he denied engaging in any sex acts. Dodjim told officers that he just laid on her because he was “too drunk.”

Dodjim said the man who filmed the assault is his brother, Richard Mbaye Djassera.

Djassera told police that he was amused that his brother and the brother’s friend were having sex with the girl.

“He said he thought it was funny so he recorded them having sex on his phone,” investigators wrote in a court record.

Both Dodjim and Djassera are behind bars in the Salt Lake County Jail. It was not immediately clear Thursday whether the third suspect had been identified or detained.

Dodjim was booked on charges from a previous case in addition to new charges that include rape, forcible sodomy, sexual exploitation of a minor, aggravated sexual assault, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and aggravated kidnapping.

Djassera also was booked on previous charges and some new charges, including forcible sodomy, rape, sexual exploitation of a minor, aggravated sexual assault, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and aggravated kidnapping.
