Couple sexually assaults teen girl; beat her with a belt and force her to eat cigarettes: Police

A Michigan husband and wife violently raped a young teen girl and forced her to eat cigarettes, authorities say.

Prosecutors have charged Kyle David Roy, 33, and Jennifer Edith Roy, 46, with eight felony charges in connection with the alleged abuse, Mlive.com reports.

The abuse allegedly occurred between November 2014 and October 2016 at their home in Thomas Township, which is about 115 miles northwest of Detroit.

Court documents show that Kyle Roy forced the victim to “strip naked and hit her with a belt, punched her with a fist and choked her.”

The couple allegedly sexually assaulted the girl and then made her eat half a pack of cigarettes and smoke the remaining pack, police allegedly told the news outlet.

In a separate incident, Kyle Roy has been accused of sexually abusing a minor between May and December 2014, Mlive.com reports. He also was charged with felonious assault last year but prosecutors dropped the charge in May, court records show.

The Roys each face charges of first- and second-degree criminal sexual conduct in addition to third-degree child abuse.

The pair were arraigned Tuesday. A judge imposed $150,000 bond on Kyle Roy, who had requested a smaller bond because he claimed he had no criminal history. Jennifer Roy had asked for no bail because of what she said was ongoing health issues; the judge set her bail at $20,000.

Both suspects remain in jail and are scheduled to return to court Nov. 14 for a preliminary hearing.

They face up to life in prison if convicted.
