Dad says he turned in teen son after finding child porn in phone, refuses to bail him out because ‘he needs to learn’

A 17-year-old in Missouri is facing child pornography charges after his father allegedly discovered pictures of a naked toddler girl on his phone and turned him in to police.

According to The Kansas City Star, Paul Spensberger claimed he discovered two illicit images in Andrew Spensberger’s phone on December 30. The close-up images reportedly depicted a 2-year-old relative of Paul’s girlfriend sleeping on the floor.

KTVI noted that police claimed he confessed to taking the little girl’s diaper before taking the images.

Charging documents obtained by the St. Louis Dispatch indicated that Andrew told his father that he had taken the pictures to sell them to a classmate that he believed was a pedophile that liked little girls. The teen reportedly also told police that he hoped to get $350 for the images.

“I was disgusted,” Paul told The Daily Mail, adding that he refuses to bail his teen son out of jail. “He feels like s**t. He feels remorse, and he is scared, he’s facing time in prison.”

“I could go and get him, but he needs to learn.”

Andrew was charged with Friday with one count of child porn possession. A spokesperson for the O’Fallon Missouri Police Department confirmed to People that the teen will be tried as an adult.

The 17-year-old is currently being held on $10,000 bail.
