A video appears to show a drunk patron slapping embattled producer Harvey Weinstein in an Arizona restaurant on Tuesday night.
The man, who identified himself to TMZ as Steve, claimed he spotted Weinstein with his sober coach at Elements restaurant in the Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort in Scottsdale. Steve said he approached the 65-year-old and asked for a picture but was met with hostility. However, the manager reportedly told the tabloid that Weinstein politely declined and the pair shook hands before Steve went back to his table.
Weinstein reportedly got up to leave at the same time Steve and his friend were exiting the restaurant. It was then that Steve instructed his friend to turn on his cellphone and start recording as he approached the disgraced producer, TMZ reported.
Before the assault, a disheveled Weinstein is briefly heard asking Steve’s friend to stop recording him.
“You’re such a piece of s*** for what you did to these women,” Steve can be heard saying as he delivers two quick slaps.
The footage, later uploaded by TMZ, also appears to capture Steve telling Weinstein to “get the f**k” out the restaurant while the sober coach stays behind to argue and, at one point, swing at the cameraman.
“What would you do about it?” the sober coach asks while trying to shield Weinstein from the camera.
Steve responds, “Shut the f**k up. Get the f**k outta here,” before the coach also exits the establishment.
