Foul smell leads cops to badly decomposing body of a woman inside garage

The badly decomposed body of a woman was found Friday night in Houston, Texas, after neighbors reported a foul odor, KTRK-TV reports.

Authorities are investigating the woman’s death and say it is suspicious. The body was so decomposed that it was difficult to identify her.

According to law enforcement, police officers and firefighters found the female’s body in the home’s garage after neighbors called to report the bad smell around 10 p.m. Friday.

KHOU-TV reports that investigators are still trying to ascertain how the woman died and believe some sort of struggle occurred inside the home.

Her vehicle, a red 2003 Buick LeSabre, was missing. Authorities have determined that the presimably stolen car was used in a “dine and dash” at a Denny’s restaurant earlier in the week.

Two males are wanted in connection with the Denny’s incident, KPRC-TV reports. Police have described the males as black, in their late teens and wearing red clothing. One of the males reportedly was in a short-sleeved shirt while the other male wore a long-sleeved shirt.

The discovery of the woman’s body comes a week after a man’s body was found in a bayou in north Houston.

According to KHOU-TV, the deceased was likely in his 30s or 40s and had been shot multiple times. A driver who was sitting in heavy traffic saw the body and alerted authorities.

It’s possible that the man’s body was dumped in the bayou.
