SEE IT: Unknown assailant reportedly batters, chokes mother in front of teen son

Surveillance cameras appear to have caught the tense moments when an unknown man battered and choked a British mother-of-three in front of her teen son.

Per the Daily Mail, a CCTV camera recently installed outside Gemma Mansfield’s Leicestershire home captured the seemingly random attack. The footage appears to show a man punching Mansfield several times and holding her by the throat before two other men intervene.

Mansfield was reportedly hospitalized for facial injuries and bruising in light of the attack. She told the outlet that the attack occurred after the suspect turned up to her house with two other men and demanded to see her. Despite this, Mansfield doesn’t know her attacker, according to the woman’s grandmother.

The grandmother also claimed the suspect spotted Mansfield’s 13-year-old son and asked if his mother was home and instructed him to go downstairs. She recalled receiving a frantic call from her great-grandson moments after his mother’s assault.

Mansfield’s boyfriend reportedly posted the video to social media, who called his girlfriend’s attacker a “woman-beating c**t.”

A police spokesperson said they’re aware of the video circulating online and confirmed they’ve have apprehended someone in connection with Monday’s incident. A motive is not yet known.

The police department told the Mail, “As part of ongoing inquiries, a 23-year-old Leicester man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in police custody.
