Two Tennessee men were indicted on Tuesday for allegedly filming themselves raping a 9-month-old baby girl.
WHBQ reported that the victim’s mother reported the incident in October 2016 after recognizing Isiah Dequan Hayes, 19, and her infant daughter in a sexually-explicit cellphone video she found. The mother reportedly used Facebook to track down Hayes, leading to his arrest in February of this year.
The district attorney accused Daireus Jumare Ice, 22, of filming the sexual assault. Hayes admitted to violating the baby when he was arrested in February, according to the news station.
WREG reported that officials said one of the videos shows a man exposing and touching himself with the baby—naked from the waist down—in frame. Police said a second video shows someone performing sex acts on the same baby.
The Shelby County Grand Jury indicted both men on especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor; Hayes was indicted on aggravated rape of a child while Ice was indicted for aggravated rape of a child (criminal responsibility for conduct of another).
It’s not clear how both men know the victim’s mother. The pair remains jailed following Tuesday’s indictment.
