Woman beat boyfriend’s tot son to death because she was ‘frustrated’ she had to watch him: Prosecutor

A Michigan woman is facing manslaughter charges for allegedly beating her boyfriend’s 14-month-old son to death while he was in her care.

Amber Lynn Reeves, 24, is charged with manslaughter and child abuse in connection with the October 11 death of Logan Tracy. WLIX reported that Reeves was dating the victim’s father; the prosecutor said she was “frustrated that she was left to care for” the children.

Logan’s official cause of death was listed as blunt-force trauma to the abdomen.

WLIX reported that the 24-year-old had previously pleaded guilty to fourth-degree child abuse but the charge was dismissed after she completed probation.

Moreover, the Daily Mail called attention to a Facebook post purportedly written by Reeves where she claimed Child Protective Services had taken custody of her children on June 28 and returned them to her on July 17.

“She’s currently in jail charged with homicide on my 14 month grandson,” the victim’s grandmother later wrote in response to the July 18 post.

Reeves’ bond was recently set at $300,000. Her next court date is scheduled on November 9.
