Mom allegedly drives with son on car hood after he refuses to go to dentist

A Pennsylvania mother was criminally charged Monday after she allegedly drove for two miles with her 12-year-old  son clinging to the car hood.

According to LehighValleyLive.com, Bethlehem Township police said Shaurice Jones, 36, took her son to the dentist Wednesday when he refused to go into the office and climbed on top of the vehicle. Jones reportedly then drove two miles away to the Colonial Regional Police Department—with her son holding onto the hood the entire time.

Jones allegedly admitted to knowingly driving with her son on the hood. The news outlet noted that the road Jones traveled on had a speed limit of 40 miles per hour.

Officers arrested Jones was arrested and charged with child endangerment and reckless endangerment. LehighValleyLive.com reported that she’s currently free on $1,000 bail.
