Porn actress charged in murder-for-hire plot

An American porn actress is facing a decade in prison for allegedly orchestrating a murder-for-hire plot, People magazine reports.

Katrina Danforth, 31, has been charged with five counts of using interstate commerce to hire someone to kill an individual identified as “R.H.” in court documents obtained by the magazine.

Danforth appeared in court Wednesday in Idaho where she pleaded not guilty.

Prosecutors allege that she used the mail and phone systems to target R.H., who lives in Idaho and was not harmed.

Court filings offer no clues about the identity of the intended victim, his or her relationship to Danforth or Danforth’s motive for seeking the hit.

Danforth performed under the pseudonyms Lynn Passion and Lynn Pleasant, but had recently announced her retirement from adult entertainment.

According to the indictment obtained by People, Danforth began the murder-for-hire plot in October and had finalized the plans using mail and phones in later weeks.

On Dec. 19, federal agents arrested Danforth at the Spoke International Airport in Washington State. She later made an initial court appearance that day in a federal court in Spokane.

Court documents do not detail how law enforcement became aware of the plot.

Danforth faces up to a decade a prison, but because she has no previous felony convictions, any prison sentence imposed would likely be substantially less than the maximum, according to the Spokesman-Review newspaper.

Danforth also could be fined $1.25 million — $250,000 for each count — if convicted.

She is still in federal custody and a trial date has been scheduled for March 4.

Danforth is from Post Falls, Idaho, according to the Spokesman-Review.
