Man announces he killed two sons, plans to shoot himself, in disturbing Facebook Live video: Reports

Authorities in Sweden say they are investigating a troubling social media post by a man apparently announcing the fact that he had just killed his two children before turning his gun on himself to fire a fatal shot.

According to ABC News, the unidentified man was in the town of Moklinta when he allegedly posted the disturbing Facebook Live video this week.

Swedish police reportedly responded to the scene in the village located just over an hour’s drive north of Stockholm, according to a statement released to news media on Thursday.

Officials confirmed a gun was somehow involved in the incident but did not include additional information.

Local news outlets provided few initial details but revealed the allegation that the man claimed he killed his two sons and indicated that he was about to shoot himself.

Johan Thalburg, a spokesperson for local police, only confirmed that “a serious incident had occurred” at the location, offering scant additional information about the circumstances of the incident.

The individual reportedly seen in the video was described by officials as an adult male in his 50s. Police did not release the identities of anyone involved in the incident.

Thalburg acknowledged in his statement that police responded to reports of the Facebook video but provided no reports about the condition of any possible victims.
