Daughter of police chief kills 2 young children, herself in apparent murder-suicide

The daughter of a Minnesota police chief reportedly killed her two sons and took her own life in what appears to be a murder-suicide.

According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the bodies of Emma L. LaRoque, 28, and her two children, Shane Woods, 9, and Frederick York, 4, were found Monday afternoon in a home on the White Earth Indian Reservation. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office said LaRoque shot herself but declined to reveal how her sons were killed, only calling their deaths the result of “homicidal violence.”

Sources have told KVLY that LaRoque was the daughter of White Earth Public Safety Director Michael LaRoque.

Reports indicated that the Bureau of Criminal Apprehensions is handling the case and that their investigation is ongoing. Authorities have yet to reveal a motive in the apparent murder-suicide.
