Teen girl who vanished at party found dead at industrial park with trauma to torso, cops say

A 15-year-old California girl who was found dead three days after her disappearance had suffered a traumatic injury to her upper torso, authorities said while announcing that a homicide investigation is underway.

KABC reported that the body of Samantha Bustos was found in Compton early Monday. The Gardenia teen had reportedly attended a party Friday with her best friend and was last seen in Compton with a couple of unidentified males.

A worker reportedly found Bustos body near a fence. Detectives told KTLA that she was found lying face-down in some bushes and it’s unclear how long she had been there before she was discovered Monday.

Citing Los Angeles police, KNBC reported that National Retail Systems, a company located near where her body was found, is in the process of accessing surveillance footage.

Bustos mother said the 15-year-old was last spotted in a white Jeep with two young men. Authorities haven’t disclosed a cause of death or identified any suspects in this case.
