A would-be alleged kidnapper was jailed in West Virginia this week for reportedly attempting to snatch a 5-year-old girl from her mother at a mall.

According to MetroNews, the incident involving Mohamed Fathy Hussein Zayan, 54, and the mother and daughter occurred Monday evening at Huntington Mall in Barboursville. The mother called police and claimed she and her child were in an Old Navy store when a man grabbed the girl her by the hair and tried to drag her away. The woman alerted mall security and provided them with a description matching Zayan. WOWK reported that security later apprehended the suspect in the food court. Authorities said the incident was likely isolated, but they’ll continue to investigate.

Charged with attempted abduction of a child, Zayan is being held on $200,000 bond and was ordered to surrender his passport. A court date is scheduled for April 18.
