UPDATE: Mother identified after leaving injured baby girl with someone and fleeing

Philadelphia police have located a woman accused of leaving her baby girl with someone else on Saturday and never returning.

NBC 10 reports that authorities identified Desiree Frederick, 35, as the mother of an 18-month-old toddler girl who was left with someone at around 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, off of the 3100 block of E Street, in the area of Kensington.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, when the woman didn’t return for the little girl, the witness contacted police around 20 minutes later. The toddler is currently safe with other family members. Authorities are currently interviewing Frederick to determine what happened.
