UDPATE: Cops ID juvenile suspect seen in viral video licking ice cream and putting it back on shelf

Authorities in Texas say they have identified a juvenile in San Antonio as the suspected culprit seen in a viral video licking the ice cream inside a container and returning it to the shelf of a Walmart freezer.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Blue Bell pulled all half-gallon containers of Tin Roof Sundae at the store as a precaution and has been working to identify the female seen tampering with the product and Lufkin police indicated they would be treating the matter seriously.

According to KWCH, the agency provided an update explaining that the minor identified as the suspect lives in San Antonio but travels to Lufkin because of her boyfriend’s ties to the area.

The boyfriend was identified as an adult and police noted that both he and the female were “forthcoming with what occurred and admitted to the act” when questioned by officers.

“Because she is a juvenile offender, her identity is protected under section 58.104 of the Texas Family Code,” the police department stated, adding that the investigation is now being handled by the state’s Juvenile Justice Department.

It was unclear from available reports whether the boyfriend, also allegedly seen on the video, will face criminal charges.
