SILVER Alert issued for autistic teen girl who vanished near home

Authorities in Arizona have issued a SILVER Alert for a 14-year-old girl who was reportedly last seen walking out of her home on Sunday.

Citing Glendale Police, KSAZ reported that Alicia Navarro was spotted taking off on-foot from her home, which is in the vicinity 45th Avenue and Rose Lane. Navarro was described as having high-functioning autism but additional information regarding her disappearance is unavailable at this time.

Law enforcement said Navarro is possibly wearing the sweatshirt seen in the above photo, a denim overall skirt, and black and white sneakers. She may also be carrying a silver Apple MacBook.

Authorities issued a SILVER Alert for Navarro on Monday. Though AMBER Alerts are typically issued when missing children are considered endangered, SILVER Alerts are used when an elderly person or a person with a cognitive disability vanishes.

Anyone with information regarding Alicia Navarro’s whereabouts should call the Glendale Police Department at 623-930-3000.
