Original Story

Florida authorities are hoping a new video and additional details surrounding the disappearance of a Florida teen can help locate her.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Destiny Rose, 16, hasn’t been seen since August 20, when she vanished from the Alpha Group Home in Southwest Ranches.

Destiny’s aunt, Shanna Champion, called police on September 14 and said she answered an incoming video call on Destiny’s Instagram account, and immediately saw a Hispanic male who appeared to be in his late 20s or early 30s.

The man reportedly had facial hair on his chin and crew-cut hairstyle. Champion said the man moved out of the way to show Destiny, who was tied up to a chair with a rope around her neck. Champion reportedly said the girl was crying.

“If you actually cared about her, you would be here to get her,” the man allegedly said before abruptly ending the video call.

According to the Miami Herald, the aunt didn’t have time to save the video call as a recording.

The latest video, however, which was posted on a Snapchat two days after the teen disappeared, placed Destiny in the Hallandale Beach area, according to police, inside a red vehicle that’s been described as 2002 to 2005 Ford Explorer or Mercury Mountaineer. The SUV’s interior has a unique pattern on the headliner.

Police said an adult male and another girl was in the vehicle with Destiny. The description of the man matched the description of the person that Destiny’s aunt gave to authorities, according to CBS Miami. So far, no images or videos of the male suspect have been released.

Two dogs were inside the car with Destiny, including a small white and black dog and a grey puppy. Destiny was seated in the passenger seat, holding and petting the grey pup.

Destiny is described as a white female who stands 5-feet-1 and weighs around 146 pounds. She has green eyes and blonde hair. She was last seen wearing red pants, a white shirt, and a black jacket. She also had on a pink and black beanie cap.

According to the National Center of Missing & Exploited Children, Destiny wears a hearing aid in one ear.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact the Davie Police at 954-693-8200 or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477).
