The Irish Sun reported that images taken weeks before Keaton Boggs’ March 20 death showed him covered in bruises. His aunt, Chasity Wodzinski, 29, allegedly told a relative in text messages that the dog had knocked her nephew down the stairs.

An obituary reportedly belonging to Keaton Boggs’ father stated that he died in June. Citing West Virginia State Police, the Sun reported that Chasity Wodzinski, her husband, Peter, 32, and her mother, Michelle Boggs, 48, took in the boy this past summer. Chasity Wodzinski and Michelle Boggs were the slain boy’s biological aunt and grandmother, respectively.

State police said hospital employees asked them to investigate after Keaton Boggs was admitted on March 18 with brain bleeding, various bruises, and a one-and-a-half-inch laceration on his genital area. All three relatives reportedly claimed that his fatal injuries were accidental.

Despite their alleged claims, the trio was charged in Harrison County with murder of a child by a parent, guardian or custodian. They remain jailed without bond.
