Florida man stabs roommate, tells him to ‘suck the worm and devil’ from his blood

A Florida man stabbed his roommate and then himself on Wednesday, telling responding deputies he did so to release Satan, the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office said, according to a News 6 report.

Deputies arrived at Vista Home Apartments in Sanford after the call and found Joseph Dolash, 25, cutting himself and another man suffering from a stab wound. Both men were outside the building.

Dolash reportedly resisted when deputies tried to restrain him, saying “Satan will come out of my wound, you will see,” “Satan is still in me,” and “Satan is a worm and is gonna come out of me,” according to the arrest report.

The report said deputies went into Dolash’s apartment, where they found blood on the walls and floors. They also found a fixed blade knife with a wooden handle covered in blood.

The victim, later determined to be Dolash’s roommate, was taken to a hospital for treatment. According to the report, he told investigators that Dolash held a kitchen knife to his throat and cut him multiple times, telling him “the devil was in him and he needed to get the worm out” before stabbing him.

The roommate briefly escaped, but Dolash caught him and forced him to “suck the worm and devil” out of a cut on his wrist, WFTV reported. Then, the report said, Dolash pulled down his pants and told the victim he’d kill him if he didn’t perform oral sex on him.

When investigators asked Dolash about the victim, he replied, “Can’t say he’s Satan.” Dolash was also taken to a hospital for treatment.

Witnesses said the roommate still had the knife in his chest when they saw the pair outside.

Dolash has been charged with first-degree attempted premeditated murder and sexual assault, according to the arrest report.
