DEVELOPING: Young man’s body is found hanging from tree near city hall; investigation underway

California authorities said an investigation is underway after a young man’s body was found early Wednesday hanging from a tree near city hall.

Lieutenant Brandon Dean of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau told My News LA that the unidentified male was found with a rope around his neck and hanging from a tree in Poncitlan Square, which is located near Palmdale City Hall.

Dean said all evidence suggests the man took his own life. However, he said investigators will confirm a cause of death after acquiring a full autopsy report and information from the decedent’s relatives regarding any possible mental illness.
