South Carolina bar security guard shot and killed after asking customer to leave

South Carolina police are searching for a man they say shot and killed a security guard at a sports bar early Sunday morning after the guard told him to leave the premises.

Police officers were called to the scene at The Coliseum Billiards and Sports Bar in east Greenville at about 1:30 a.m., the Greenville News reported.

The News said the suspect was intoxicated when he arrived at the bar and was never served there, citing police. The security guard, who hasn’t been identified, asked him “several times” to leave.

The man apparently retrieved a gun from his vehicle when he left. Surveillance footage shows him reenter the bar through a rear entrance and fire multiple shots into the victim, police said. He fled in an SUV.

The victim was taken to a hospital where he died.

Greenville police asked anyone with any information to call Crime Stoppers at 864-23-CRIME.
