Nancy Grace: Accused killer of 5-year-old Cannon Hinnant will face death penalty

CrimeOnline’s Nancy Grace, speaking with Tucker Carlson on his Fox News show, predicted that the man charged with murdering 5-year-old Cannon Hinnant in his front yard would face the death penalty.

Darius Nathaniel Sessoms, 25, was charged with first degree murder the day after the shooting on Sunday that left many in the small community of Wilson in North Carolina baffled, as CrimeOnline previously reported.

“I know that the families were friends. There’s never been any bad blood between them at all,” Grace said.

Sessoms lived next door to the Hinnants and had, in fact, had dinner with the family on Saturday.

As for a motive, Grace said, family members said that “the little boy rode his bike into the neighbor’s yard, and the defendant comes out, holds the gun, and shoots the child point blank.”

“I predict this will be a death penalty case,” she said

Grace mused about her own children while thinking of a young life snuffed out too soon.

“He was set to start kindergarten this week,” she said of Cannon. “I think back on my children … They went to kindergarten and what a big day it was. and now he’s gone forever.”
