7 people shot to death at illegal marijuana grow house, police say

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said in a press release that shortly after midnight Monday, officers responded to a reported assault with a deadly weapon at a Moreno Valley residence. There, they reportedly discovered six people dead with gunshot wounds; a woman who was also shot was pronounced dead at a hospital.

An investigation reportedly revealed that the home where the deadly shooting transpired was the site of an illicit marijuana grow operation. Police said several hundred marijuana plants and more than 1,000 pounds of marijuana were reportedly discovered at the residence.
