A Texas woman found dead on the side of the road Sunday has been identified as a missing Instagram influencer.
Houston police confirmed to KPRC that the body discovered in the 1000 block of Red Haw Street is Alexis Sharkey, 26, who was also known as Alexis Leigh Robinault. Sharkey’s last known contact with her friends was on Friday evening.
According to KTRK, a Houston Public Works employee was driving when they spotted Sharkey’s body in some bushes. Her body reportedly had no visible injuries, and authorities believe it had been there overnight.
Sharkey, who is married, reportedly moved to Houston in January. Her mother said her daughter had an argument and left without her car, according to KPRC.
It is unclear who Sharkey was arguing with, or what the argument was about.
Sharkey’s friends had reported her missing. Shakey’s mother told KTRK that she tried calling her daughter’s phone but it went straight to voicemail.
Sharkey’s cause of death remains undetermined, pending an autopsy.
