Infant found dead with dog ‘just lying on her,’ 911 caller says

Ohio police are investigating the New Year’s Eve death of a 4-month old girl after a man told 911 he found the baby not breathing and with a dog lying on top of her.

Dayton Police identified the little girl as Raelynn Larrison and said that the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office would determine the manner and cause of death with an autopsy.

The Dayton Daily News reported that crews were called to the home at about 7 p.m. Thursday night when the man, who has not been named, called, crying for help.

“She’s not breathing. My baby ain’t breathing,” he told the dispatcher.

The man added that he didn’t know what happened, just that “the puppy was just lying on her.”

The girl was pronounced dead at Dayton Children’s Hospital, the newspaper said.

Police did not say anything further about the incident, including the dog’s breed, size, or age, or whether they thought the dog attacked the girl.
