BREAKING: WOMAN SHOT DEAD AS MOB ATTACKS U.S. CAPITOL

A woman who was shot as a mob of Trump supporters breached the U.S. Capitol building on Wednesday has died.

The Washington Post reports that the woman died from her injuries after she was shot inside the Capitol building during a riot that coincided with Congress assembling to certify the results of the U.S. Presidential election.

The Post reported that a Capitol Police officer fired the fatal shot as she was among a group of rioters who ignored orders to stop after they had broken into the Capitol.

KUSI news identified the woman as Ashli Babbit, a 14-year Air Force veteran from the San Diego area.

The mayor of Washington D.C. has ordered a curfew that went into effect at 6 p.m. ET.

This is a developing story. CrimeOnline will provide further updates when more information is available.
