FOUND SAFE: 12-year-old Maine boy hasn’t been seen since before noon Friday

Update: Maine State Police said Atum Hosea has been found safe.

Police in Maine are looking for a 12-year-old boy who walked into the woods behind his house Friday morning and hasn’t come home.

Atum (pronounced “Adam”) Hosea left his house in Frankfort at about 9 a.m. and was last seen at Deb’s Store in Winterport, about three miles away, at about 11:30.

Hosea is described as about 5 feet 4 inches, 90-100 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing black jeans, a black jacket, black hat, and sand-colored work boots. He was carrying a large tan backpack.

Police are concerned because temperatures are falling in the area and his family wants to know that he is warm and safe.

Anyone with information regarding Hosea’s whereabouts is urged to call 207-624-7076 x9.
