‘Take me away,’ Connecticut mom tells cops, who find 4-year-old son dead inside apartment

Police in Connecticut arrested a 33-year-old woman for murder after she told them “take me away ” because she “hurt her son.”

WTNH reported that police were called to a parking lot just before 6:30 a.m. for a report of a woman damaging a car with a bat. The woman fled the scene, but the victim was able to point her out while speaking with police about the damage.

That’s when the suspect, identified as Tiffany Farrauto, told officers to take her away.

Police immediately wen to Farrauto’s apartment, where they found her four-year-old son unconscious and unresponsive. The boy was taken to Laurence and Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

New London Police Chief Peter Reichard said investigators believe the boy was dead before police arrived.

In addition to murder, Farrauto has been charged with risk of injury to a child. She’s being held on a $1 million bond.

Reichard said an autopsy was schedule for Monday to determine cause of death.
