Florida sheriff’s deputies have arrested a man they say killed his grandfather and cut off his ears, Fox 35 reports.
Kolby Parker, 30, initially told Lake County Sheriff’s deputies that he and his grandfather were smoking marijuana together Saturday night when they got into an argument and the older man came at him with a knife.
As investigators spoke with Parker, he pulled two human ears from his pants pocket and told them they belonged to his grandfather. Then, deputies said, Parker began attacking and fighting the deputies, before they were able to take him into custody.
Investigators obtained a search warrant and found a baseball bat that appeared to have blood stains on it and a large butcher knife on the kitchen floor. They also found blood on the kitchen floor.
Confronted with further evidence, Parker reportedly confessed to bashing his grandfather in the head with the bat several times and repeatedly stabbing him with the butcher knife.
And, he said, he cut off the man’s ears. Parker allegedly told the deputies he killed him because he wanted his grandfather to be with his already deceased grandmother.
Parker has been charged with second degree murder, battery on a law enforcement officer, and resisting arrest with violence. He’s being held with no bond.
